Who IS the Divine Feminine?

She IS everything.

The Divine Feminine is the Earth, the Goddess, the feminine counterpart and equal AND life-giver to the Divine Masculine (who in turn sustains her).

You were probably brought up to believe that God is male. “He” is the creator, surveying “His” people. Yet in this world of polarity we inhabit, how can that be true? How can there BE a masculine God? From who’s womb was he born?

The truth is, that that part of the story – the story of the womb, the feminine and the wisdom of the Goddess, has been covered up, suppressed, and all but forgotten. And in her place, the male God stands.

Barbara G Walker wrote a book called “Man Made God” in which she suggests that rather than God making man in his image, man made God in his. This man-made God came to replace the Goddess – he stood alone. High and mighty, in his “king”dom of heaven.

It’s not true.

He is not true.

**Do not think that this man-made God has anything to do with the Divine Masculine! HE is sacred and powerful and has also been through radical mistreatment.

**For clarity, this is not a discussion of gender. Both men and women contain masculine and feminine energies.

Now, let’s speak of the Divine Feminine

She is energy.

Divine Feminine Energy manifests in a thousand ways across the Globe (and beyond) as Goddesses.

From ancient Babylonia, to modern-day Japan, the Divine Feminine expresses the full spectrum of all that is the feminine principle, in its highest and most sacred forms.

The Goddesses have different characters, strengths, qualities, likes, and dislikes. Some intermingle and overlap. Histories (Herstories) change, are re-written, and new tales are spun. Yet these expressions of the divine feminine – in whatever forms humans have been able to receive them – oversaw all the different parts of life that existed – from childbirth to war and everything in between.

Yet the ancients knew that their Goddesses did not keep themselves separate from the people. And far from just being characters in stories, they lived through the people. These forces of Spirit were actual forces working in the world, through man and women, land and sea. So help was required, insight, guidance, or actual intervention, they were invoked.

And with this, the Divine Feminine made the people powerful.

Why did the Feminine Fall?

Not such a helpful state of affairs, for patriarchy.

Powerful people (and especially powerful women) are very, very hard to control.

So bit by bit, these living Goddesses, these visible, moving forces of the Divine Feminine were taken away from the living. Through death (Let’s not forget the burning times were more horrific and destructive than can possibly be imagined). And through conceptualizing.

The sacred rituals, practices, and meditations that our ancient ancestors used to draw their power down were spun into stories, hidden in metaphor and song. Beautiful and strong. But, their potency lessened as time wore on and memories thinned.

Gradually, those people that survived became removed from their Goddesses (and their counterpart Gods, it should be said). Likely even thoughts of them, let alone actions would spark fear and a spike in the nervous system that many still bear, the witch wound carried on from womb to womb to womb.

And instead, they were presented with this alternate, singular “God” to put their trust in.

We have reached a turning point in our history.

Humanity is waking up, we’re breaking out of the current control paradigms, and Divine Feminine consciousness is returning in symbiosis with these changing times.

Life is full of HER presence – from the #metoo movement, to armpit hair subculture and equal pay disputes. The feminine principle is alive. She isn’t being silenced any longer. Humanity needs her.

So why NOW?

1. Humanity NEEDS to reconnect to the Earth

The last few thousand years have seen incredible growth and evolution of our species and societies. But with the passing of many generations, many, many humans on this planet have become gradually, gently distanced from our natural, conscious Earth: Gaia.

As human beings, we’re incredibly sensitive creatures.

Our bodies – physical, mental and emotional – can open so wide: we have a huge capacity to absorb the subtle energies that surround us. But the amount of actual contact that many people, particularly in the West, have with the rawness of the natural states of our planet is limited.

You likely know that exposure to the natural world makes you feel good, and makes you healthier. Humans are beginning to learn how our personal energy fields harmonise and re-calibrate when they interact with high vibe life forms (plants, trees, crystals, etc.)

But the disconnection many folks experience isn’t simply down to our physical and sensory distance from nature. Our disconnection goes deeper:

Humans have forgotten how to consciously interact with Gaia.

By this, I mean to profoundly admire her, to experience deep, visceral involvement with the natural world, genuine soul delight, and wonderment. We’ve forgotten how to surrender, and be lead into intimacy, and ultimately into alliance.

The potential is there for this to happen during a barefoot walk in a vast ancient forest, lying in a city park gazing at the Moon, or even sitting at a desk next to a pot plant.

The point is, our connection to nature, and to Gaia, is a relationship, and relationships need to be cultivated.

Not just through presence, but through involvement. The further you’re willing to go with your involvement, the more YOU will fuse with her essence – her rhythms, seasons, patterns, and ultimately with her innate ability and function, which is to heal, create and transform.

But there’s more:

The powerful energies that keep nature’s cycles turning are the very same feminine principles that every woman has inside of her.

Each woman is the embodiment of the same rhythms, seasons, patterns and, yes, powers of creation and transformation.

But we have denied ourselves this understanding for a very long time.

One of the keys to truly reconnect with Gaia is in the hands of women – we each need to embrace this cyclic, creative aspect of our own Divine Feminine energy and re-learn and remember the sacredness and power contained in our bodies and in our cycles.

When women have truly embraced and integrated this knowledge, we’ll be in the position to work with Gaia, using our own sacerd power, to transform and heal the damage done to our planet in ways we don’t yet understand.

2. Humanity needs to reconnect with itself

So many of the problems we are fading in the world have their origins in feelings of disempowerment. And these are always caused by the vibration of fear.

Fear is an emotion we experience in response to a perceived threat – not only an actual threat, but often merely something we suppose to exist.

As humankind has evolved over the last few thousand years, we’ve built up many of our structures and set up our systems based on this fear. And almost entirely without the healing, energetic influence of the Divine Feminine.

Some of the most fundamental qualities of the feminine principle are those of receptivity, openness, inclusivity, and cooperation. But the absence of these aspects, from the core of so many of the fundamental mechanisms through which our societies operate, means that we have become deeply, even genetically fearful.

**It is true that there are people trying to manipulate us further, in an attempt to generate even more fear, but the reason this is even able to happen is that our pre-existing societal expectations easily create the opportunities.

In a nutshell, our ‘response to a perceived threat’ means that most modern humans have become innately fearful of each other.

I don’t just mean big, obvious fears, of attack or physical harm, but fears of being vulnerable, of being honest, of not being what others expect us to be.

It is time for us to shift away from this vibration of fear. But how do we do this?!

…by embracing the Divine Feminine qualities which have neglected for so long:

be receptive
be open
be inclusive
cooperate

And importantly, to anchor those aspects into our lives, so that what we create from here, comes from this new paradigm of healing and compassion.

It will also require going deep inside of ourselves, and facing our shadows. Even going far, far back into our histories to unpack the belief systems that still control us from the inside (the programming runs deep) to discover the roots of our fears.

If we can re-visit those dark times and remember why we needed to protect ourselves, by shunning the secrets and magic and power of the feminine for so long, the healing journey will bring true transformation to the planet.

It starts with self-love.

The Divine Feminine is returning now to support this work.

When we displace our own fear and are no longer affected by it, we’ll cease to even allow the possibility of any more. Then we’ll be able to create from a place of true empowerment and not from a fearful, protective reaction.

3. Answers will come from Intuition and Receptivity

Albert Einstein said: “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”

The times that we are all living through are an incredible, transitioning moment.

Much of what we once relied upon for our support and our guidance and direction is breaking down before our eyes – our governmental structures, our monetary systems, our big media co-operations, and religious orders.

But building another system or designing another master plan won’t produce a definitive change or be a real fix to any of our perceived human problems.

This is because assertive, dominant, self-reliant methods are the origins of the very same structures we now distrust, and are trying to climb out of. We’ve run out of time, and know too much now to keep going round and round in circles.

It’s clear to most people that Einstein was right – we need a new way, but what is it?

It appears pretty simple to me.

The Divine Feminine is calling on us all to switch on our intuition and open up to receiving the immense amounts of guidance that will not come from trying to find answers.

The answers exist. The codes of knowledge that we need to heal the harm done to our Earth exist – there is a whole Universe out there of immense intelligence that is poised to pass all of this knowledge to us (just consider Gaia’s immense power to self-heal)! But first we need to shift ourselves into a vibration of receptivity, in order hear them.

Perhaps the biggest and most difficult shift of all, is to move from an attitude of self–reliance and defense, and the feeling that we’re ‘going it alone’, to trusting in the support and protection of the Universe, Source, the Divine … whatever you wish to call Its presence.

As more and more people wake up to the fact that we are creating our realities through our consciousness, the importance of mastering our minds, opening our hearts, and listening to our wombs will grow too. But the shift needs to happen for each and every one of us, within.

Divine Feminine consciousness isn’t something that is happening ‘outside’ of you.

The sacred feminine principle isn’t something you have to go and find, or be taught. It is in each of us, and is working through each of us. Your task is to listen to it.

And if you are reading this blog, and it is resonating with you, then you are already tuning in – you are one of the Divine Feminine torchbearers! You have chosen the assignment of manifesting this energy into the world, to encourage and enhance it’s rise for others.

I don’t believe that we can honestly, confidently place our trust in our external societal structures anymore. (Perhaps that day will come again). But those we create between ourselves, from the new consciousness of mutual love, care, authenticity and connectedness to Gaia, will be the literal building blocks for whatever our changing Earth requires of us, and the time for this change has come.
