For now, the quiet of this deep, silvery lunar pool of fullness is enough. She holds us through our transition… she provides the template for our alchemical becoming.

There’s no need to fear a thing.

Did you see la Luna, rising in the East?! 🌝

She was a deep orange when I noticed her emerging over the horizon. So beautiful. So irresistible that I grabbed my bedding and slept out beneath her gaze, soaking up her Moonlight til morning.

Full Moons bring culmination.
The illumination that comes from a high vantage point.

And it’s funny because whilst it’s the waning half of the lunar cycle that is *supposed* to bring release.. a lot has been moving for me over these first waxing phases.

I’ve been working with alchemical heat.
Harnessing the hot, hot English sunshine of this week to “cook” myself anew (thank you for the guidance @honeyed.ways 🐝🍯💛)…
Releasing through the elixir of sweat.
Releasing through blood.
Releasing through tears.

Waking up outside in the morning under a veil of dew…

And as it begins to cool, just a little, this Full Moon comes to me with a delicious emptiness. She offers a high, high perspective.
A bird’s eye view.
And I am grateful my bag is lighter…

Happy Saturday friends! The Moon reaches her first

Happy Saturday friends!
The Moon reaches her first quarter today… a half-moon travelling through the blue skies. OH these blue British skies! I LOVE the Moon but I do love it when the Sun comes out to play… (I joke I am part lizard because I soak up rays like my life depends on it. It does).

First quarter Moons are pivotal times.
Opportunities.
Openings…
With light and dark balancing across her surface AND moving through the last degrees of the scales of Libra, this moment calls for a tip one way or another.

Waxing energy pushes us forward.
Up.
Ahead..
To states of being that feel like a stretch… Here we are tugged from our protective shells and asked to grow into the people we CAN be.

A moment to live into potential.

I do this for myself by making it unavoidable.
Saying yes.
Booking it in.
Asking for a date, a time, a commitment from somebody else, so that then I can’t duck out as easily.

And a HUGE part of this kind of growing, this edge walking into an uncomfortable but exhilarating new version is * self-trust*. To believe that yes, I will be able to do it when the time comes.

That belief as a lightness that tips the balance.

Will YOU rise on the scales today? Will you say “yes” to your future self?

This Moon is emerging through Virgo.. the original

This Moon is emerging through Virgo.. the original Grain Goddess.
Her mythos has deep roots that spread throughout the ancient world.

From Ancient Egypt, where her symbol was a woman holding a sheaf of wheat or corn. To the Eleusinian Mystery Schools of ancient Greece where she was celebrated as Demeter, Mistress of Earth and mother of Persephone.

Virgo also appears (hidden in plain sight) in the story of Jesus, the “House of Bread” aka Bethlehem, where the star rose in the East in that very corner of the skies.

Her Grain mother archetype is old as the Earth, her stories scattered like seeds across the soil, germinating throughout our myths

So the Moon in this sign brings fertility.
Renewal.
Growth.
The possibility of nourishment.
The promise of a harvest.

She teaches patience (such a useful lesson here at the start of the cycle, AND here at the beginning of so much change on the planet – yes, I sense we are still at the beginning).

Turning our collective gaze to the Earth, to her wisdom and medicine.. to all that she knows and all that we simply need to observe and allow. And then maybe, just maybe, welcome into our own bodies and our own lives…

She, too, has been waiting patiently for us to listen.

An emerging Moon… and she is bravely circling aw

An emerging Moon… and she is bravely circling away from her watery home in Cancer, into the fiery heart of Leo.

This energy is fixed.
This space offers a holding.
A pause.
A devotional stillness.

This fixed energy often moves through my house as a reminder not to rush through transitions. They take time, care, hand-holding and above all: Attention.

This Moon in Leo calls for just that. Close attention… for only when we know precisely where we stand, can we know where it’s safe to step next. This feels good – New Moons are rarely times for risk taking so the safety of being right here, right now, is enough.
