5 Gorgeous Libra Full Moon Rituals for Love (March 2024)

The Libra full Moon on Monday, March 25th is the first full Moon after the Spring Equinox

This deceptively powerful lunation brings a welcome breath of fresh air to the cosmic cauldron, but blink and you may miss it…

Libra is a cardinal air sign with a love for beauty, aesthetics and the finest things in life. When the lunar cycle peaks in Libra, opposite its fiery partner in crime, Aries, the focus is pulled to our relationships, specifically, how we can nurture, restore and find balance in these wonderful mirrors and opportunities for healing we call our significant others.

The Libra full Moon always makes me think of Maat, the Egyptian Goddess of the scales who one of the most ancient rulers of the sign of Libra.

Let me tell you a little about her story, and how her symbols still echo through our lives today…

Goddess Maat: Ancient ruler of Libra

Maat was the ancient Egyptian deity of justice, ethics, and politics. She lived deep in the underworld inside the Hall of Two Truths. This was the place where Anubis guided the dead.

Maat would weigh the heart of the deceased on a pair of scales, against a single feather. Whether the heart was lighter or heavier than the feather dictated whether the soul went on with its journey to the afterlife, or was fed to the fearsome soul-eating God.

We don’t live with myths like this anymore. They exist in books, as stories, but not as threads of truth that weave their way, silently, through lives being lived out on Earth today. At least not consciously. So instead, we have to go looking for patterns and symbols to make sense of our lives. They’re not a given.

Stories like this aren’t about living in fear, doing the “right thing” because if you don’t, you’ll come to a gruesome end. It’s the symbolism that’s powerful, and worth drinking in: The scales. The feather. The underworld.

Threaded through with the story of Maat, March’s Full Moon in Libra reminds us that it’s possible to live as lightly as a feather.

Not that heavy, dark, and doom-laden events aren’t unfolding around the world every day. But that you have a choice – in every moment – how you respond to them.

How light is your love?

This is especially true when it comes to love. Under this full Moon in Libra, the dynamics of our relationships are illuminated, and we get to see how much light, or heaviness we infuse into these sacred connections.

How much blame or responsibility do we employ, to tip the balance…?

Just like meeting Maat in the underworld and having your heart weighed after a lifetime of choices made, the full Moon in Libra leaves nowhere to hide.

How light is your love? How much joy, freedom and elevation do you offer and how much do you need? Your love can be made by design, and this glorious Libra full Moon is a fabulous place to start…

5 Love Rituals for the Full Moon in Libra

Think carefully about the intention behind any ritual you perform, especially those involving the hearts of other people. Always act with the greatest good of all as your priority.

Here are 5 of my favourite love rituals to perform during the full Moon in Libra. Whether you’re looking for love, coupled up and cosy or need to inject a little self-love into your life, this little collection of Libra-inspired rituals will offer the love and lightness you’re looking for.

Enjoy!

 1. Create a love altar

Set up a beautiful altar, devoted to love itself! Fill it with items that symbolize love to you, such as rose quartz crystals, pink candles, and fresh flowers. Light the candles, call in a Goddess of Love – Aphrodite, perhaps – and fill yourself up with the frequency of the most powerful force in the Universe.

Whenever I perform this simple ritual, even more love pours into my life – it’s simple LoA. Under the light of the full Moon, whatever you focus on amplifies, and this is a beautiful way magnetize more love.

2. Love manifestation bath

As a gorgeous self love ritual, take a relaxing bath with rose petals, essential oils, and Epsom salt. As you soak, visualize yourself surrounded by love and positive energy, and let go of any negative emotions or past heartaches.

3. Love letter to yourself

Write a heartfelt letter to yourself (yes, you read that right!) expressing love and gratitude for who you are. May sound a little cringe, but this simple ritual really does help cultivate more self-love.

Plus, you can pull it back out for a read-through at any dark moments in the future when you may need a little boost.

4. Release past heartaches

Write down any past hurts or disappointments in love on pieces of paper, then burn them in a fireproof container as a symbolic release. Let go of the old wounds and make space for new love to enter your life.

5. Moonbathing

Find a quiet outdoor space under the full moon, lie down, and soak up the silvery gaze of Old Grandmother Moon. Visualize yourself surrounded by a pink, loving light, and open your heart to receive and give love freely.

What’s your plan for this month’s full Moon in love-soaked Libra?
