Gather your tools, step into the sun, and let’s make magick…
1. Sun-Infused Spell Oils
Harness the heat of July by infusing oils with solar herbs.
Choose a base oil (such as organic olive oil, jojoba, or sunflower oil – we LOVE this cold-pressed jojoba oil) and add a good quantity of herbs such as calendula, rosemary, or orange peel.
Place the bottle in a sunny spot for a week or more, to absorb the sun’s power.
Strain the herbs and then bottle the oil, optionally adding a few drops of citrus or cinnamon essential oil for an energising boost. Use this bright, botanical blend to call in light, warmth, and strength whenever needed.
You can place them into roll-on bottles for personal use or amber glass dropper bottles for altar work, anointing rituals, spellwork, or even as a magickal moisturiser to carry the sun’s energy with you over the coming months.
2. Fire Element Charm Pouch
Sew or tie together a small red or orange pouch, and fill it with items that represent the element of fire:
- A pinch of chilli flakes
- A red carnelian stone – try one of these tumbled points
- A cinnamon stick
- A dried marigold or calendula flower
Carry this pouch to boost your inner power, courage, and passion.

7. Full Moon Dream Pouches
Support your intuition and dreamwork during the full moon with these scented sachets. Combining calming and psychic herbs with amethyst, create your own dream pouch to invite prophetic dreams and restful sleep when placed under your pillow or near your bed.
You will need:
-
Small drawstring muslin bags (alternatively, sew your own from fabric offcuts)
- Needle and thread or ribbon (THIS purple velvet ribbon is perfect)
-
Dried lavender flowers, mugwort, rose petals, jasmine, and of course, whatever you have growing.lemon balm.
-
Essential oils for added scent

If making your own pouch, place two pieces of fabric together (with the good side facing inward). Sew around the edges, leaving a small opening (about 1-2 inches) on one side for filling. Carefully turn the fabric pouch inside out, and fill with a mixture of your dried herbs and amethyst crystal.
Once filled, carefully sew the opening closed, ensuring the herbs are secure inside. You can use a whip stitch for a neat finish.
If you’re using a drawstring pouch, then it’s easy – simply fill and pull closed, finishing with a length of velvet ribbon.

Choose from these materials:

Create magical stepping stones that represent Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
This is a lovely garden craft to anchor your outdoor or ritual space in elemental balance.
Mix your concrete and pour it into moulds (round or square baking trays work well). While it’s wet, press in meaningful decorations—herbs for Earth, feathers for Air, red stones for Fire, and shells for Water. Leave them in the concrete, or remove them and leave the imprint as a simple decoration.
You can also carve in symbols or sigils with a stick before it sets.
Once dry, paint if desired and seal for outdoor use. These stones become beautiful markers of balance and intention beneath your feet.
You will need:
-
Moulds (round or square) – this set of 4 round cake tins is ideal
-
Decorative items (herbs, feathers, stones, shells)
-
Stick or toothpick for etching
-
Optional: paints and sealer

In the heat of July, crafting small decorative bottles filled with water, shells, sea glass, and calming herbs can be a gorgeous way to cool off!
Drawing on the energy of the element of water, these bottles can help to bring peace, emotional healing, and even help cultivate a connection to intuition.
We LOVE these blue glass bottles, and use fresh Moon water made under the full Moon for added potency.
Place them around your home, on your altar, or even out in the garden for a sprinkling of water magick wherever you spend oyur time.
11. Mini Herbal Brooms
A witch’s broom (or besom) is a classic tool for clearing negative energy. To make a quick mini besom, gather small bundles of herbs like rosemary (for protection), lavender (for peace), or thyme (for purification). Bind them together with twine, leaving a loop at the top for hanging.
Place your mini besoms above your door, near a window, or on your altar to cleanse and protect your space. You can also lightly sweep around your home to dispel stagnant energy, then hang it back up when finished.
Make a selection and gift them to your favourite witchy sisters, or sell them at a craft fair or festival this summer.

12. Lemon Balm Lip Balm
A gorgeous and magickal self-care project that soothes, protects, and adds a touch of herbal medicine to your daily ritual. Lemon balm is prized for its calming, antiviral, and heart-soothing properties – making this balm ideal for both spiritual and physical nourishment.
You will need:
-
2 tbsp dried lemon balm
-
¼ cup olive or coconut oil (we love this brand)
-
1 tbsp pure white beeswax pellets
-
Double boiler or heat-safe bowl (we LOVE this double boiler)
-
Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
-
Optional: a few drops of lemon essential oil
How to make:
In a double boiler or heat-safe bowl over low heat, gently warm your oil and add the dried lemon balm. Let it steep for 30–60 minutes, keeping the heat low so the herbs don’t burn. Stir occasionally to release the properties of the lemon balm.
Once the oil has taken on the herb’s colour and scent, strain it through cheesecloth or a fine mesh sieve to remove all plant matter. Wipe out your bowl.
Return the infused oil to the heat and add the beeswax pellets. Stir gently until the wax has completely melted and the mixture is smooth and golden.
Remove from heat and, if using, stir in a few drops of essential oil to enhance the soothing or uplifting effects of the balm.
Carefully pour the warm balm into small tins or lip balm tubes. Work quickly but carefully—it will start to set as it cools.
Allow the balm to fully cool and solidify before sealing the containers. Label with the date and ingredients, and store in a cool, dry place. Use daily as a nourishing, soothing, micro-ritual.
13. Cooling Bath Salt Soak
Blend sea salt, dried botanicals, and shimmering mica powder to create DIY ritual bath soaks that make bath time magickal! Create variations for relaxation, energy cleansing, or self-love.
Simply mix together sea salt and Epsom salt in a bowl, sprinkling in dried seaweed (crumbling into powder if necessary), plus a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Mix well, and add a small pinch of mica to create a soft, ocean-like shimmer.
Transfer your bath salts to a glass jar and use a handful per bath.
This is also a gorgeous DIY to do together with your soul sisters on craft nights.

15. Sun-Embroidered Altar Cloth
An altar cloth infused with the radiant power of the sun can become a treasured piece in your seasonal or year-round practice. July is the perfect time to create one, using rich golden hues and light-filled symbols to honour the longest, most balmy days of the year.
Start with a natural fabric like cotton, linen, or muslin – something breathable and easy to work with. Choose embroidery threads in sun-inspired colours: gold, orange, amber, white, or even deep red.
Stitch a central sun motif, and add borders of small flowers and herbs known for solar energy (like calendula or chamomile).
If embroidery isn’t your strong suit, you could use iron-on transfers, fabric paint, or appliqué techniques instead. We love this Iron on Sun Star and THIS set of 13 iron-on floral designs.
The finished cloth can be used beneath candles, crystals, or tools during rituals.
July is the heart of the fire season, when the Earth’s bounty is generous, the sun is blazing, and the energy of nature feels wild and alive. These crafts aren’t just about making pretty things – they’re about infusing intention into your everyday life and celebrating the sacred in the simple.
Take your time.
Let your hands know the rhythm of the season. Let your heart speak through colour, texture, scent, and spell. Whether you complete one or all fifteen of these witchy July crafts, may your days be radiant, your rituals rooted, and your creativity ablaze.
Blessings on your summer path, witch.
