5 Pink Moon Rituals to Live From the Heart (April 2024)

Pink Moon in a dark sky with text that says: 5 Sweet and Brave Pink Moon rituals

This week the full Moon will rise in our Springtime skies, bringing warmth, clarity and an opportunity for rebirth.

Here in April, the full Moon is known as the pink Moon.

The name originates in Native American lands, where the pink phlox are in flower, casting swathes of pink blooms across the meadows. Here in the UK, I don’t seem much pink around quite yet. The Anglo-Saxons called this the Egg Moon, and to the Celts, it was the Budding Moon, which feels more appropriate to me.

What’s the Pink Moon called in your world?

I love Amanda Yates Garcia‘s suggestion that we name the Moons for ourselves. In my life right now, this one could be the “Hurry Up Summer Moon”, or the “Brisk Wind Moon” or the “Momentum Moon”.

As the wheel of the year turns ever onward, this full Moon arrives to keep us on track and help us build up momentum. Still emerging from the cold of winter, we’re being called to shed those last old skins, to create the space for new life.

It may still be chilly most mornings out there, but expansion is on the horizon and we must meet it with our own willingness to grow.

I love this full Moon because it offers one more STRETCH into transformation.

Sitting in Scorpio, this full Moon is a crucible for death and rebirth of the most profound kind. But can you make the transition from the HEART, and not the ego?

Pink Moon rituals

The pink Moon is an ideal time to perform rituals that focus on heart-centered change

From rituals that let go, to rituals that manifest, this energy is RIPE for ambition and courage.

Here are 5 sweet and brave rituals for this powerful April pink Moon

List of 5 rituals to perform on the Pink Moon

1. Fire ritual for courage

  1. Find a safe outdoor space to build a small fire or use a candle indoors if that’s more practical
  2. Sit comfortably in front of the fire or candle, and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
  3. Visualize the flame as a symbol of courage and inner strength. As you gaze into the fire, reflect on situations in your life where you feel you need more courage.
  4. Write down any fears or doubts you have separate piece of paper.
  5. One by one, throw each piece of paper into the fire, symbolically releasing these fears and inviting courage to take their place.
  6. As the paper burns, visualize yourself stepping boldly into the future. Feel yourself full of confidence and determination.

2. Pink candle meditation

  1. Under the light of the full Moon, find a quiet space to sit comfortably and light a pink candle in front of you.
  2. Soften your gaze, and gently focus on the glow of the candle flame.
  3. With each breath, imagine yourself surrounded by a soft pink light, representing love, compassion, and self-belief.
  4. Allow this light to envelop you, filling you with a sense of warmth and inner peace. Spend a few moments in silent reflection, connecting with the energy of the Pink Moon and setting intentions for your personal growth this year.

3. Mirror affirmations

  1. Stand in front of a mirror in a quiet room where you won’t be disturbed.
  2. Take a few deep breaths to calm your mind and center yourself.
  3. Look into your own eyes in the mirror and affirm to yourself out loud: “I trust in the wisdom of change. I allow it to guide me towards greater purpose. I am confident in my capacity to navigate life’s transitions with grace and strength..”
  4. Repeat these affirmations several times, allowing the words to sink in and resonate deeply within you. As you affirm your capacity and courage, visualize yourself  achieving your goals with ease and grace. Feel the strength and confidence building within you with each repetition of the affirmations.

4. Release and renewal ritual

  1. Create a sacred space outdoors under the light of the Pink Moon.
  2. Gather a small bowl of water, dried flowers, and a piece of paper and pen.
  3. Take a few deep breaths to ground into the present moment, then write down any thoughts, emotions, or patterns you wish to release.
  4. As you write, visualize these things being released from your life, allowing space for new opportunities and growth.
  5. When you’re ready, tear up the paper and scatter the pieces into the bowl of water, symbolizing the cleansing and renewal process.
  6. Take a little of the water and lightly wash your face and hands, cleansing yourself from all that no longer serves you, before tipping the water away and disposing any leftover paper.

5. Pink Moon gratitude ritual

  1. Take a walk under the Pink Moon and find a quiet spot in nature.
  2. Sit down and take a few deep breaths, grounding yourself into the present moment.
  3. Reflect on all the blessings in your life, both big and small.
  4. As you breathe deeply, visualize each blessing as a pink light surrounding you, filling you with gratitude and appreciation.
  5. Take time to express thanks for these blessings aloud or silently in your heart.
  6. When you feel complete, make an offering back to nature as a gesture of gratitude, such as planting a flower or leaving a small token behind.
  7. Allow the energy of gratitude to uplift and inspire you as you move forward on your journey.
