1. Sun Wreath

Create a symbolic sun in the form of a gorgeous golden wreath, to honor the turning of the year. Use a premade grapevine wreath or form a circle with twigs or wire. Adorn it with golden ribbons, yellow and orange dried flowers, and charms that reflect the sun and nature’s gifts.

Hang it on your front door, or as part of your solstice altar to remind you of the sun’s radiant energy at this time of year.

    2. Citrus Herb Candle Jars

Decorate small jars with very thin slices of dried citrus (like orange and lemon), and sprigs of rosemary or thyme. Pour in melted wax with a few drops of a sunny, warm-scented essential oil, like calendula, chamomile or clove.

Alternatively, simply pop in a premade tealight.

These sunny candles will bring brightness to your rituals, garden feasts, or evening baths.

For candlewax, we recommend THESE Pure White Beeswax Pellets – the crème de la crème for candlemaking (you can also use this for soap and cosmetics).

Alternatively, THIS Candle Making Kit comes with a boiler and little electric stove, and makes melting wax a breeze!

    3. Solstice Sun Tea

Simply fill a large glass jar with a lid (like a mason jar) with clean fresh water and add in a selection of edible herbs and flowers. Screw on the lid, and leave in the direct sunlight for 3 -5 hours. You could add:

    • Mint

    • Lemon verbena

    • Chamomile

    • Rose

    • Raspberry leaves

    • A little honey and ice cubes when it’s ready

Your tea will contain wonderfully invigorating energetic codes, absorbed directly from the Sun… so enjoy! Many herbs also release their vital minerals and nutrients over a longer time period (such as raspberry leaves) so you’ll bet extra goodness with a longer steep

    4. Pressed Flower Lanterns

Transform glass jars into glowing lanterns decorated with pressed flowers.

Glue the flowers onto the jar’s surface, then seal with a layer of  Mod Podge or or clear-drying glue. Place a tealight inside, and let the light shine through the petals.

These lanterns are lovely for outdoor gatherings or quiet evening meditations.

      5. Solstice Flower Crowns

Gather fresh wildflowers, fragrant herbs, and long tendrils of ivy to weave into a simple flower crown. If needed, use a base of grapevine, flexible twigs or floral wire.

Wearing a flower crown during the solstice is fun! Why not indulge in a bit of whimsy on this ONE special day of the year?! Yet as well as adding to the spirit of celebration, this simple floral accessory also represents your connection to nature.

Perfect for rituals, selfies, or barefoot dancing in the sun.

      6. Sunburst Painted Stones

Choose smooth stones and paint them with suns, spirals, or radiant patterns. You can also write words of intention: joy, love, courage.

For extra ease, we recommend these Poska pens – ideal for writing on most surfaces!

Place them on your altar, garden path, or give them as small gifts.

Crafted with intention on the solstice, these tokens will hold the essence of solar energy and bring brightness to any space.

      7. Crystal Charm Suncatchers

Use wire, fishing line, or string to hang crystal beads, charms, and metal sun shapes. Assemble them into a dangling suncatcher that will reflect light.

Hang your creation in a sunny window to scatter little rainbows and create a warm, magical atmosphere in your home.

      8. Herbal Blessing Bundles

Bind fresh herbs like rosemary, lavender, mint, or yarrow into small bundles. Tie them with twine or ribbon and let them dry.

Burn them for cleansing smoke, hang them in doorways as fragrant blessings, or place them on your altar as an offering to your ancestors.

        9. Litha Lemon Sugar Scrub

This sunny sugar scrub is uplifting and clarifying – perfect for solar self-care!

Lemon zest brings brightness and clarity, while calendula petals soothe and heal. It’s a lovely way to honor your body after a day in the sun, or call in a little zing if you need extra motivation.

Simply mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1/4 cup coconut oil (we love this brand) the zest of one lemon, and a tablespoon of dried calendula petals. Add up to 10 drops of lemon essential oil if desired. Store in a glassjar and use to exfoliate hands, feet, or body.

        11. Golden Leaf Prints

Gather fallen leaves and paint the underside with gold or copper acrylic paint. Press them onto paper or fabric to make shimmering nature prints.

Frame them or use them in spellwork, journals, or as cards. It’s a lovely way to preserve summer’s beauty and celebrate the golden light of solstice.

        12. Solstice Wish Flags

Cut out small rectangles of fabric (cotton or linen works well) and paint or stitch words of intention onto them – peace, abundance, creativity.

Hang them on a string outside so your wishes flutter in the breeze, carrying your hopes and dreams into the world with the wind. This is also a lovely craft to do with children.
