This craft lets you dry your magickal herbs while honouring the gorgeous crescent phases of the moon – perfect for kitchen witches and green witches alike.

    You’ll need:

    Instructions:

Start by prepping your “rack”: use screw-in hooks evenly spaced along the branch or dowel. Tie twine to each one so it hangs down like a mobile.

Attach a small clip to the ends of each piece of twine – this is where your herbs will hang to dry.

Spaced along the dowel, glue or tie on your wooden crescent moons. You can paint them black, white, or even gold for extra flair.

Hang the whole thing with sturdy twine from a ceiling hook in a dry, airy space — near a window with indirect sunlight is perfect.

Optional spellwork: Tie on a charm, sigil tag, or crystal at the full moon to amplify the magic while your herbs dry.

Combine self-care with spellcraft. These fizzy botanical bath bombs make perfect gifts or ritual aids.

          Supplies you’ll need:

To make, mix all the dry ingredients. Slowly add the coconut oil and essential oils, then spritz with witch hazel (this will keep fizzing to a minimum) until the mixture just holds shape. Pack tightly into moulds and let dry overnight.

          • Feathers, ribbon, or twine for decoration

          • Sandpaper & optional wood stain

          • Hot melt glue gun – this is one of the best

Sand your branch and optionally stain it. Attach the crystal to the tip using hot melt glue and reinforce with wire, and twine if necessary. Decorate with feathers or wrap the handle in leather.

Extra tip: Consecrate it under the full moon before use.

Place near your door or window to guard your home.

          16. Astrology Charm Bracelets

Create magical charm bracelets based on your zodiac sign — or make them for your friends and witchy sisters!

          You’ll need:

Jewellery making is so much fun, and takes trial, error and intuition.

Thread your zodiac charms onto chains with intention. Recite a personal affirmation or spell as you string each one, dedicated to the friend you have in mind (if gifting). When finished, knot or clasp securely and wear!

            18. Herbal Ink for Spellwork

Write with intention – literally. Herbal inks let you craft your own magical formulas for sigil-drawing or journal entries.

            You’ll need:

            • Base ingredient for colour, for eg. walnut husks (wisdom, grounding), hibiscus petals (love, passion, attraction), beetroot (vitality, strength, manifestation)
            • Water (moon-charged or rainwater)
            • Gum Arabic (for thickness and longevity) – get liquid here, and get powder here
            • A small pot (for simmering)
            • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
            • Glass jar with lid (for storage)

            19. Insect Oracle Dice

Craft a set of small wooden dice with symbolic summer insects etched or painted on each face — dragonfly for transformation, bee for work and reward, beetle for shadow work, etc. Roll them for daily messages.

            You’ll need:

Each insect becomes a mini totem, as you draw an image of a separate insect, onto each surface of a wooden dice.

Roll the dice for guidance, and use these (suggested) meanings –

            • Bee: “Work with joy. Your effort creates sweetness.”

            20. Moon Water Mist Spray

A moon-blessed spray for your body, home, or sacred tools. Customise by intention. adding corresponding essential oils to cool off midsummer heat, or protect from negativity and harm.

            You’ll need:

To make your mist spray, combine your chosen ingredients in the bottle (use a pipette for ease). Shake gently, and label by moon phase and intention.

Use as a personal energetic mist, or spray in your space before meditation or ritual.

            21. Fae Leaf Offering Bowls

Create a tiny enchanted vessel from clay that feels as if it bloomed right out of the forest floor.

These delicate, nature-inspired bowls capture the imprint of a leaf, making them perfect vessels for small, meaningful offerings to the fae in your landscape.

            You’ll need:

Start by rolling out a piece of air-dry or polymer clay to about ¼ inch thick, then gently press a real leaf (vein-side down) into the surface to capture its intricate patterns.

Carefully cut around the leaf’s shape and nestle the clay into a small dish or bowl to give it a soft, natural curve. Let it dry for 24–48 hours, or bake it if you’re using polymer clay.

Once it’s set and the leaf is peeled away, you can paint it with shimmering golds, deep greens, or mossy silvers to give it a magical, woodland finish.

Place in fairy gardens or shaded groves, adding a sprinkle of sugar, a few dried rose petals, a crystal or two.

              You’ll need:

Thread the stone onto your cord and knot it securely. Add beads or a knotwork pattern if desired. Wear during travel, spellwork, or when you need spiritual protection.

              23. Summer Sigil Wooden Coins

Craft a sun-charged talisman by burning sigils into round coins of wood. These are ideal for protection, calling in luck and abundance, or even using for divination.

If you’re not confident drawing your own designs, practice with stencils first (see below).

              Supplies you’ll need:

To make your magickal coins, sketch your sigil (or other design) lightly on the wood, then trace over with the burning tool. Add sun rays, runes, or symbols of your patron deity (or experiment with stencils).

Keep in your pocket, place on your altar, or place in sacred, secret places for strangers to find and enjoy!

Create a container garden dedicated to lunar herbs and moon phases. You can even do this on a windowsill with pots. Bring your inner green witch alive this summer, even if you live in a city!

                You’ll need:

                • Simple teracotta pots or outdoor planters

                • Compost or potting soil
                • Soil and moon-aligned herbs (like mugwort, jasmine, angelica, peppermint)

                • Moon phase stones or lunar labels

                • Paint to decorate
                • Optional: moon-charged crystals

If decorating your pots, do this first as it will be a lot easier before they’re planted up! Then plant your herbs and label each with its magickal use, adding moonphase stones and crystals if desired.

                Keep in a moonlit windowsill.

                25. Herbal Smoke Bundles

Let them dry and then burn later for purification (much like Native American smudge sticks).

Midsummer is the ideal time to make your supply of herbal smoke bundles for the rest of the year. It’s also a gorgeous activity to do with friends, and allows you to share resources.
