1. Infused Summer Candles
These are powerful and practical. Create ritual candles infused with your seasonal intentions using herbs, essential oils, and charged crystals. Great for altar use or spellwork.
Supplies you’ll need:

Or: Pure White Beeswax Pellets – the crème-de-la-crème for candlemaking
-
Candle wicks
-
Essential oils – this set of 6 high-quality oils contains the essentials for candle making
-
Crystal chips (rose quartz, citrine, etc.)
-
Upcycled jars or tins for containers
Melt the wax using a double boiler (or grab this Candle Making Kit with Boiler). Add a few drops of essential oil and stir. Place the wick in the centre of your container. Pour in your wax and sprinkle crystals and herbs on top as it cools. Let set for 24 hours.
2. Pressed Flower Bookmarks
Nothing says “summer witch” like slipping a wildflower between the pages of your grimoires. These laminated bookmarks make perfect gifts or spell tools.
You’ll need:
- Heavy books (or a flower press – we love THIS one)
- Pressed wildflowers (try yarrow, daisies, or Queen Anne’s lace)
- Cardstock backing (optional)
- Home laminating machine – this one is brilliant
- Laminating sleeves
Lay out your flowers inside the laminating pouch, with or without backing. Run it through the laminator and trim the edges. Add a hole and ribbon charm if you like.
Bonus tip: infuse a personal sigil into the layout for hidden spellwork.
3. Wax-Dipped Leaves and Petals
Seal the magic of midsummer blooms forever! Dip leaves or flowers into beeswax to preserve them for altar decor or to burn in seasonal spells.
You’ll need:
-
Beeswax pellets or leftover candle wax
-
A small pot or wax melter
-
Freshly picked leaves or petals (roses, oak, lavender work well)
-
Tweezers
Melt the wax slowly and dip each petal or leaf, letting the excess drip off. Hang to dry or lay flat on parchment. You can write sigils onto the wax once it hardens with a metal stylus.
Bonus tip: Consecrate your stylus, transforming it into a sacred tool and use it only for magickal writings and practices.
4. Solar Water Infusion
Brew a batch of sun tea with herbs, crystals, and sunlight. Use as a ritual mist, floor wash, or energetic cleanse. Or if using edible ingredients, drink within the day for a solar boost!
You’ll need:
-
A clear glass jar with a lid
-
Spring or distilled water
-
A selection of herbs like mint, basil, lemon balm, raspberry leaf or calendula
-
Optional: a safe crystal like clear quartz or rose quartz
Fill the jar with water and herbs, cap it, and place it in direct sunlight for 2 – 12 hours. If using a crystal, ensure it’s water-safe (no selenite or malachite). Strain and store in a spray bottle for cleansing spells or post-ritual refresh.

5. Crescent Moon Herb Drying Rack
Why settle for a plain herb rack when you can turn it into a suspended lunar altar?!
This craft lets you dry your magickal herbs while honouring the gorgeous crescent phases of the moon – perfect for kitchen witches and green witches alike.
You’ll need:
-
A sturdy branch, dowel, or wooden hanging rod (a cut-down curtain rail would do)
-
Twine or natural jute string
-
Mini crescent moon wood cutouts or repurpose your own.
-
Small screw-in hooks (or eye screws) – THIS is a versatile set
-
Herb drying clips – THIS pack of 40 is ideal
-
Dried or fresh herbs: mugwort, rosemary, thyme, lavender
Instructions:
Start by prepping your “rack”: use screw-in hooks evenly spaced along the branch or dowel. Tie twine to each one so it hangs down like a mobile.
Attach a small clip to the ends of each piece of twine – this is where your herbs will hang to dry.
Spaced along the dowel, glue or tie on your wooden crescent moons. You can paint them black, white, or even gold for extra flair.
Hang the whole thing with sturdy twine from a ceiling hook in a dry, airy space — near a window with indirect sunlight is perfect.
Optional spellwork: Tie on a charm, sigil tag, or crystal at the full moon to amplify the magic while your herbs dry.
6. Resin Flower Pendants
Preserve summer blooms and botanicals in wearable art.
Get your supplies:
- Crystal Clear epoxy resin kit

Think of this as a portable green altar or enchanted landscape in a jar.
You’ll need:
-
A clear glass jar with lid
-
Moss
-
Crystal chips
-
Tiny charms or a mini broom
Layer moss, then crystals, then charms. Coil the fairy lights around the inside if desired. Seal your jar, bless it, and place it where you need grounded or fae energy.
8. Seashell Rune Set
Turn seaside finds into a full set of magical runes. They’re tactile, travel-friendly, and carry the sea’s potent energy — ideal for summer divination work.
You’ll need:
-
24–25 small flat seashells (similar sizes work best)
-
Fine-tipped paint pens, we recommend these Poska pens
-
Optional: Mod Podgeor sealant spray

A pouch or small fabric bag for storage
Clean and dry your shells thoroughly. Using your Poska pen, carefully draw one rune symbol per shell. Let dry fully, then seal with Mod Podge if desired. Keep them in a pouch for travel readings, beach rituals, or intuitive pulling.
Tip: You can find numerous resources and books on runic divination and symbolism to guide you in selecting the appropriate symbols for your set. This book by Lara Veleda Vesta is incredible.
9. Spelled Fruit Jams
Capture the magickal peak of the season in small-batch fruit jams, charged with intention and any corresponding herbs. Add lavender for peace, a tiny pinch of basil for love, or thyme for courage — each spoonful becomes a tiny spell.
You’ll need:
- Jam jars – repurpose those you have, or try THESE
-
Fresh fruit, sugar, lemon juice
-
Optional: culinary herbs, edible flowers, or cinnamon sticks for stirring spells
Use strawberries, raspberries, or peaches at their sun-ripened best. Clean and prepare your fruit, and add to a pan with sugar. As the jam simmers, stir clockwise and whisper your intention.
Keep testing to see whether it’s done, and then pour into jars, cool and label your jars with sigils, affirmations, or planetary glyphs, and gift them as edible charms.

- Jewellery making chains
- Jewellery jump rings (for attaching charms)

17. Dehydrated Fruit Slices
Dry thin slices of lemon, orange, or apple under the summer sun and use them in spell sachets, garlands, or ritual teas.
You’ll need:

Citrus or some stone fruits

Drying rack or dehydrator screens
-
Optional: cinnamon, rose petals, or cloves to add to the drying trays

As they dry, sing or chant over them. These ingredients are beautiful in charm bags, altar bowls, or strung up like tiny suns to decorate your home.
18. Herbal Ink for Spellwork
Write with intention – literally. Herbal inks let you craft your own magical formulas for sigil-drawing or journal entries.
You’ll need:
- Base ingredient for colour, for eg. walnut husks (wisdom, grounding), hibiscus petals (love, passion, attraction), beetroot (vitality, strength, manifestation)
- Water (moon-charged or rainwater)

Simmer ½ cup of your chosen botanical into a small pot with 1 cup of water, in water for 15–20 mins. Strain, then stir in ½ – 1 tsp gum arabic while still warm. Pour into a bottle and shake. Use in your grimoire, sigil-making, or spell scrolls.
19. Insect Oracle Dice

You’ll need:
- fine-tipped paint pens, we recommend these Poska pens
-
OR a pyrography tool – this one is ideal
-
Optional: a drawstring pouch for storage
Each insect becomes a mini totem, as you draw an image of a separate insect, onto each surface of a wooden dice.
Roll the dice for guidance, and use these (suggested) meanings –
-
Bee: “Work with joy. Your effort creates sweetness.”
-
Butterfly: “Transform with grace. The wings are waiting.”

You’ll need:

-

Use as a personal energetic mist, or spray in your space before meditation or ritual.
21. Fae Leaf Offering Bowls
Create a tiny enchanted vessel from clay that feels as if it bloomed right out of the forest floor.
These delicate, nature-inspired bowls capture the imprint of a leaf, making them perfect vessels for small, meaningful offerings to the fae in your landscape.
You’ll need:
- White air-dry clay – super versatile.
- Yellow air-dry clay – our favourite for solar modelling
- Set of 12 colours of oven-bake clay – also great, follow baking instructions
- Clay modelling toolkit – makes crafting SO much easier!
- Gold paint
- Dried flowers, glitter, tiny charms
- Optional: mini crystals or stones
Start by rolling out a piece of air-dry or polymer clay to about ¼ inch thick, then gently press a real leaf (vein-side down) into the surface to capture its intricate patterns.
Carefully cut around the leaf’s shape and nestle the clay into a small dish or bowl to give it a soft, natural curve. Let it dry for 24–48 hours, or bake it if you’re using polymer clay.
Once it’s set and the leaf is peeled away, you can paint it with shimmering golds, deep greens, or mossy silvers to give it a magical, woodland finish.
Place in fairy gardens or shaded groves, adding a sprinkle of sugar, a few dried rose petals, a crystal or two.

23. Summer Sigil Wooden Coins
Craft a sun-charged talisman by burning sigils into round coins of wood. These are ideal for protection, calling in luck and abundance, or even using for divination.
If you’re not confident drawing your own designs, practice with stencils first (see below).
Supplies you’ll need:
-
Wood coins, rounds or slices. Get THESE, or make your own from a fallen branch.
- Woodburner tool – this one is super inexpensive and ideal for beginners.
- Moon stencils
- Runes stencils
- Animal stencils – I love these designs!
To make your magickal coins, sketch your sigil (or other design) lightly on the wood, then trace over with the burning tool. Add sun rays, runes, or symbols of your patron deity (or experiment with stencils).
Keep in your pocket, place on your altar, or place in sacred, secret places for strangers to find and enjoy!
24. Moon Garden in a Pot
Create a container garden dedicated to lunar herbs and moon phases. You can even do this on a windowsill with pots. Bring your inner green witch alive this summer, even if you live in a city!
You’ll need:
-
Simple teracotta pots or outdoor planters
- Compost or potting soil
-
Soil and moon-aligned herbs (like mugwort, jasmine, angelica, peppermint)
-
Moon phase stones or lunar labels
- Paint to decorate
-
Optional: moon-charged crystals
If decorating your pots, do this first as it will be a lot easier before they’re planted up! Then plant your herbs and label each with its magickal use, adding moonphase stones and crystals if desired.
Keep in a moonlit windowsill.
25. Herbal Smoke Bundles
Gather summer’s most powerful herbs – rosemary, mugwort, chamomile, yarrow and lavender- and tie them into bundles using bright coloured cotton or natural hemp.
Let them dry and then burn later for purification (much like Native American smudge sticks).
Midsummer is the ideal time to make your supply of herbal smoke bundles for the rest of the year. It’s also a gorgeous activity to do with friends, and allows you to share resources.
