June is a month of full bloom and fiery energy – the sun is high, the days are long, and nature is at her most expressive. In the Wheel of the Year, this is the time of Litha, aka the Summer Solstice, when hours of light are long and the Earth offers her ripest magick.
For witches, pagans, and nature lovers, June invites us to bask in beauty, celebrate abundance, and channel solar power into our spells and creations. It’s a time to gather flowers, soak in golden light, and align with the joyful pulse of the season.
These 15 witchy crafts are specially chosen for the energies of June.
Some are perfect for your solstice altar, others make lovely handmade gifts or ritual tools. Each one can be a vessel for your intention, and a fun, creative way to while away the long lazy summer days.

1. Litha Lemon Sugar Scrub
This sunny sugar scrub is uplifting and clarifying – perfect for solar self-care!
Lemon zest brings brightness and clarity, while calendula petals soothe and heal. It’s a lovely way to honour your body after a day in the sun, or call in a little zing if you need extra motivation.
Simply mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1/4 cup coconut oil (we love this brand) the zest of one lemon, and a tablespoon of dried calendula petals. Add up to 10 drops of lemon essential oil if desired.
Store in a glass jar and use to exfoliate hands, feet, or body.
2. Solstice Flower Crown
There’s nothing quite as joyful or iconic as a flower crown to celebrate the Summer Solstice!
Symbolising abundance, vitality, and the beauty of nature in full bloom, making and wearing a flower crown on June 21st is a deeply potent act.
To make your crown, begin by forming a circular base using flexible vines, willow branches, or floral wire – shaping it gently to fit your head.
Weave in fresh flowers like daisies, roses, lavender, dandelions, or any seasonal blooms that call to you. Use twine or floral tape to secure each stem, layering blossoms and greenery as you go to create a balanced, wild, and radiant design.
There’s no perfect formula. Simply follow your instincts and embrace the magick creativity of the moment.

3. Floral Resin Talismans
Capture a piece of summer to wear around your neck or place on your altar. Make magickal little amulets to preserve the essence of June, in the form of petals, herbs, gold flakes and tiny crystals, set inside crystal-clear resin.
To make them, simply pour resin into small moulds (circles, moons, or hearts work beautifully), and gently arrange dried flower petals, glitter, and tiny charms inside. As the resin sets, focus on the intention you want the piece to hold – love, joy, protection, or confidence.
Once cured, turn them into pendants, keychains, or pocket talismans to carry a bit of summer magick with you wherever you go.

These lanterns are lovely for outdoor gatherings or quiet evening meditations.
5. Midsummer Spell Candles
Hand-poured candles infused with sun-charged herbs, oils, and crystals make powerful tools for spellwork, as they hold the potency of this time of year.

8. Seashell Charm Necklace
Create a simple yet powerful talisman from a holiday by the sea by turning a found shell into a charm necklace.
If your shell has no hole, gently make one near the top with a thumbtack or needle.
Thread the shell onto the centre of a cord, tying knots to secure it. Then add extra beads and charms, knotting them into place as you work your way up the cord, reaching your desired length. Knot both ends together, or attach a clasp so the necklace can be undone as needed.
For added luxury, anoint it with a drop of essential oil for a gorgeous and potent scent.
Wear it as a charm for protection, clarity, and connection to the sea.

11. Handmade Runes
Create a full rune set using found pebbles or smooth stones, each hand-painted with Elder Futhark symbols or custom sigils of your own.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the meanings and associations of each runic symbol. You can find numerous resources and books on runic divination and symbolism to guide you in selecting the appropriate symbols for your set. This book by Lara Veleda Vesta is incredible.
Once you are ready, use paint, a marker (we recommend these Poska pens) or even a carving tool, to carefully inscribe your runes.
Once the symbols are inscribed, cleanse the runes with smoke from sacred herbs and consecrate them with your intention for divination, guidance, or protection.
12. Cooling Bath Salt Soak
Blend sea salt, dried botanicals, and shimmering mica powder to create DIY ritual bath soaks that make bath time magickal! Create variations for relaxation, energy cleansing, or self-love.
Simply mix together sea salt and Epsom salt in a bowl, sprinkling in dried seaweed (crumbling into powder if necessary), plus a few drops of your chosen essential oil. Mix well, and add a small pinch of mica to create a soft, ocean-like shimmer.
Transfer your bath salts to a glass jar and use a handful per bath.
This is also a gorgeous DIY to do together with your soul sisters on craft nights.

13. Solar Anointing Oil
These golden-hued oils capture the radiant energy of the sun and can be used to anoint candles, tools, or yourself during rituals and spellwork. They’re especially powerful for spells related to confidence, success, joy, and vitality.
To create your own, infuse a carrier oil (such as organic olive oil, jojoba, or sunflower oil – we LOVE this cold-pressed jojoba oil) with solar herbs like St. John’s Wort, calendula petals, orange peel, or a pinch of dried rosemary.
Place the jar in a sunny window for a week or more, letting it soak up solar energy.
Strain the herbs and bottle the oil, optionally adding a few drops of citrus or cinnamon essential oil for an energising boost. Use this bright, botanical blend to call in light, warmth, and strength whenever needed.
Popular blends include:
- Protection oil (rosemary, black pepper, and obsidian chips)
- Love oil (rose, vanilla, and rose quartz)
- Prosperity oil (cinnamon, orange, and pyrite).
You can place into roll-on bottles for personal use or amber glass dropper bottles for altar work.
14. Sun-Embroidered Altar Cloth
An altar cloth infused with the radiant power of the sun can become a treasured piece in your seasonal or year-round practice. June is the perfect time to create one, using rich golden hues and light-filled symbols to honour the longest days of the year.
Start with a natural fabric like cotton, linen, or muslin – something breathable and easy to work with. Choose embroidery threads in sun-inspired colours: gold, orange, amber, white, or even deep red.
Stitch a central sun motif, and add borders of small flowers and herbs known for solar energy (like calendula or chamomile).
If embroidery isn’t your strong suit, you could use iron-on transfers, fabric paint, or appliqué techniques instead. We love this Iron on Sun Star and THIS set of 13 iron-on floral designs.
The finished cloth can be used beneath candles, crystals, or tools during rituals.
15. Witch’s Garden Plant Markers
Bring a touch of earth magick to your garden (or indoor herb pots) with hand-painted wooden marker stakes. Each marker is labelled with the name of a classic witchy herb.
Use paint to personalise each stake with not only the name of each herb or flower, but its properties too, like:
- Lavender for peace
- Rosemary for protection
- Sage for cleansing
- Mugwort for dreams
- Thyme for courage.
Add botanical illustrations or magickal symbols: crescent moons, pentacles, or tiny runes. Use natural wood for a rustic vibe, or paint them in enchanting shades like moss green, deep plum, or twilight blue.
Marker sets also make wonderful gifts for green witches, kitchen witches, or anyone who blends gardening with spellcraft.
With the sun at its peak, blossoms in bloom, and your spells woven tight with golden thread, June is the season of vibrant doing, not just dreaming.
Whether you stitched the sun into cloth, stirred intention into oils, or crowned yourself with blooms, during midsummer, each craft becomes more than an object – it becomes a living charm, charged with the pulse of the season.
So keep your hands busy, while your heart stays open.
Craft boldly. Create with love. And always remember: Your magic lives in what you make.
Blessed Solstice, and happy crafting, witch
