Hello, April magick..!
The fourth month of the year has arrived, with birdsong, fresh rain, and the unmistakable feeling that spring is fully underway. What began as tentative green shoots in March (re-resh here>) now feels lively and abundant, as Mother Earth wakes more fully with every passing day.
I always find that in April, the air feels a little softer, the ground definitely feels more fertile, and finally, everywhere you look life appears to be growing!
After March’s moment of balance at the Spring Equinox, April invites us to grow, not just with intention, but with a dose of light-hearted enthusiasm!
For witches, April is a month of flourishing.
The seeds planted earlier in the year are juuuust beginning to show signs of life, both in the garden and within ourselves.
April’s witchcraft correspondences remind us of an essential truth that’s easy to foget in this fast-paced world: Growth thrives where joy, curiosity, and patience are allowed to bloom.
Energy and Symbolism of April
April’s energy centres on growth, fertility, joy, and abundance.
The name April is often linked to the Latin aperire, meaning “to open,” reflecting the opening of flowers, buds, and the expanding warmth of the season.
This is a month where nature feels playful and alive. Rain nourishes the soil, blossoms emerge, and animals grow more active in the lengthening daylight.

-
Decorate your altar with fresh flowers, like daisies, tulips, or roses to call in even more joyfulness!

-
Add seasonal colours, like pink, green, yellow, or gold to candles, clothing, or altars to amplify your vitality and align with the month.
Remember, aligning with the season doesn’t mean doing more. It means allowing your practice to grow naturally alongside the rhythms of the Earth.
Many witches tell me the hardest part of seasonal magick is knowing what to focus on (before it’s too late!)
That’s why I created Seasonal Spellcraft, so your practice can unfold naturally, one month at a time.
The Pink Moon & Casting Lunar Magick
April’s Pink Moon symbolizes blossoming life, emotional renewal, and the beauty of fresh possibilities.
Despite its name, the moon doesn’t appear pink. The name comes from the blooming of wild ground phlox, one of the first flowers of spring in some parts of America.
Under this moon, emotions often feel lighter, creativity flows more easily, and intentions related to love, prosperity, and growth gain powerful momentum.
This moon is a potent time for manifestation, love magic, and abundance rituals.
Pink Moon Ritual Ideas:
-
Write down your specific intentions for growth or prosperity and place them beneath the full moonlight.
-
Light a pink candle to invite love, harmony, or flourishing opportunities.
-
Create a charm using rose petals, basil, and aventurine (my absolute favourite crystal!) for abundance and joy.
-
Brew moon-charged herbal tea with lavender or thyme and drink it with mindful intention.
-
Simply pend time outside under the moon, allowing yourself to notice the sights and sounds of spring returning.
As you work beneath this moon, imagine your intentions blooming like flowers, unfolding naturally, petal by petal.
