Whenever the Full Moon comes around again, I feel the culmination, the climax of the Lunar cycle (though not nearly the end). The moment of optimum and total illumination, both literally, in plain sight, and symbolically, as it shines throughout all aspects of my life.

I feel like I am standing on a peak of awareness (not always understanding – that often comes later), receiving Luna’s luminosity, it’s as though for this brief time, life lies under a spotlight.

It is a time to when I try to stop and look around me, to see the achievements, successes and goals I have worked on long term and brought to fruition. Sometimes I’ll stand in wonder, glee and pride at more recent gains, freshly worked on and received from intentions set at the New Moon. It is time to deeply acknowledge and appreciate the immense power of creation that I know I am capable of!

I know a lot of people are waking up to their own innate power, and ability to consciously co-create and this is the ideal time to relish and be grateful for this potential, without needing to test it!

Also illuminated are things that may once have earned their place, maybe one day long ago I relied on them, or perhaps they were just left over from another time, another life: people, habits, behaviours, thoughts, objects… Now they are just taking up space, or worse still, weighing me down and keeping me standing still.

As soon as Luna fills, she begins to wane, and with her disseminating light energy, she will take those outdated aspects of me, if I am ready to release them.

The Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday morning – is a BIG deal. All Lunar eclipses, and they do come with regularity, bring their own particular energetic flavour, but very generally, you may think of them as ‘amplified’ Full Moons. A normal Full Moon occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are in alignment, a Lunar eclipse occurs when they are in super, super, perfect alignment.

So if you are ready to release those aspects of your life that no longer serve you or your higher purpose, this is the time to hitch a piggy back on Grandmother Moon because with your cooperation, her purifying energy will help you leave them far behind.

But, how conscious you are of this process, how much work you are willing to put in, and how much you are willing to relinquish control, and release to the tides – these are what count, when it comes to how the experience of the Lunar Eclipse will be for you personally.

Because whatever it is that you consciously wish to release, the change that a Lunar Eclipse can ultimately bring, may be completely out of your control. The release and the loss may be something you could not have imagined, even less desired.

Whenever I am called to look deeply inside, and recognise and release outdated behaviours, or old definitions of myself, I know it is because there are newer, updated, more exciting, more useful aspects trying to get in. The new parts of me can’t grow if the old ‘dead wood’ is taking up too much space.

For the last few days I have been considering my ‘Full Moon Release List’ and tonight I’ll write it out in my journal.

It mostly contains the doubts: in myself, my work, my power, my lifestyle…. lots of tangled strands, like the bindweed on my allotment which runs along the soil surface, strangling seedlings, and even managing to climb up the stems of beautiful and fruitful shrubs.  All it takes is a bit of neglect, and that entwined, coiling fear and apprehension can run riot! But with targeted work, it’s not that hard to strip back.  I know that if I am to move forward, now is the time to clear those doubts and release the emotional energy.

Tomorrow’s Full Moon Eclipse will fall in Aries, which is the first sign in the zodiac, which can bring the deep desire and motivation to make a fresh start, or maybe you will begin to see your reality from a new perspective.

Alternatively, like me, you may have been working on new projects, and find that, ready or not, now is the time to launch them into the world!

It is a good idea to keep a copy of your Full Moon Release List, should you make one, so that you can refer back to it.  Wait until the next Full Moon and if it feels right, take a look for the sake of comparison, and to see how far you have come.  It is not necessarily a good idea to keep referring back to your list as you may find that this action anchors in just those things you are trying to clear.

Whatever tomorrows Lunar Eclipse, and its subsequent weeks bring, I will be centering in acceptance of the changes that come my way, and reminding myself of the cyclic patterns, that the Moon teaches us are in everything.  All of life is dancing to this rhythm.  Throughout the upheaval, the craziness, and the unknown, one thing I know I will always receive from Luna, is her unwavering, ever comforting presence.
